Coordinated in home nursing hours on a monthly basis for 20-30 pediatric patients from a pool of 100-150 RN's and LPN's, sought suitable replacement for cancelations and conducted new hire interviews.

Former Special Education Administrative Assistant - 7 years Norton Public Schools

  • Performed accounting associated with the maintenance of the special education out of district tuitions, in and out of district testing and therapy accounts, as well as in and out of district transportation and parent travel reimbursement accounts.
  • Processed all tutoring requests within the district and managed those accounts. Processed all purchase orders and maintain ledger pages associated with state grants. Provided to the Superintendent projections for each budget year for the above mentioned accounts. Completed a number of schedules associated with Department of Educationstate reports including the End of Year report and the Circuit Breaker Report.
  • Worked cooperatively with the guidance staff and Chair people, processed all testing requests within and outside of the district and distribute those test results appropriately. Communicated with parents, doctors, Department of Education staff, out of district school staff, Department of Mental Retardation, Department Mental Health and Dept of Social Services personnel on a regular basis. Typed Individual Education Plans in Eutactics software program for the Out of District student population and maintain the same records for the special education students.
  • Supervised 5 mini-bus drivers, helped to develop and maintain 5 bus routes, resolved on and off road emergencies as they occurred, dispatched messages to drivers as they arose, maintained bus driver's safety training records as mandated by RMV, prepared and submit bus drivers payroll. Arranged for transportation with local drivers and private vendors. Coordinated the use of two- 7dmanual.pdf for the school districts coaches and teachers, coordinated athletic and field trips in and out of district and Town Meeting shuttle services.

How to Navigate Interactions Among Agencies-Sponsored -Charles River ARC -by (SPaN) -2007Under the leadership of DSSCommissioner Harry Spence, a new collaborative venture to help schools and health/social service agencies bettercoordinate delivery of services to at-riskyouth is being developed. This partner-ship between the state's ExecutiveOffice of Health and Human Services,DSS and several statewide education associations, including MASC, aims tohelp high risk children succeed inschool and provide teachers and school administrators with tools to bettermanage behavior problems.

Additional Relative Experience:

Single parent from 1983- 2006 of a child who's life was significantly impacted both at home and at school by acute childhood Asthma, (ReactiveAirwayDisease.pdf) and multiple environmental allergies. From age 4 through age 16 he was dependent on three nebulizer treatments per day just to main healthy airways, and up to 6 treatments per day when ill, as well as inhaled steroids and oral medications. Lung capcity was measured using a Peak Flow Meter three times per day (on good days ) and recorded on a graphs, which were submitted weekly to his doctors at Children's Hospital in Boston - Allergy and Immunology Clinic. Although my son missed on average 50+ days of school per year due to frequent illness and years of weekly visits to the doctor, he had no school or community supports.
